Now we're set up, we're a bit more confident about promoting the shop - we know we have lots of stock and the shop looks established. Our main strategies are aimed at knitters through Ravelry, the online knitting site, and also tourists via some of the key tourist publications and local tourist organisations, as well as brochures placed in many of the places visitors are likely to see them.
However, one of the best approaches is to be highly visible - we are in a lovely old building and whilst I'd hesitate to call it "yarn bombing", I think anyone driving past is likely to see that there is knitting within.
Signage is good (and we have great signage) but I think a knitted sign might just be a tad more obvious hung over the balcony. There's a way to go yet but I'll get there. Guess what this will say?
