Jamieson & Smith's Jumper weight yarns are 100% Shetland wool, and traditionally used in the knitting of Fair Isle garments. Whilst referred to as Jumper weight, they are the equivalent of 4ply or fingering weight. This is a classic and treasured by heirloom fairisle knitters
We try to stock a J&S's full palette of beautiful shades originally designed by Jamieson and Smith - this is their flagship yarn, and cannot be imitated in terms of depth of colour and spun quality. This yarn can also be used in vintage patterns which call for 4ply yarn.
Note, we have listed the colour names as per J&S's website. Occasionally, the balls can have a different name on the label - we have listed this as well.
Also - we have colours 6, 7, 8 and 73 available - unfortunately they won't fit on our webpage. If you require these colours, either email, call or put a note on your order and we will contact you.
Weights and Measures:
This yarn is sold in 25g balls, which give an approximate yardage of 114 yards / 105m (length given for pattern guidance only).
